Re: BWL this weekend..
Weird. Seems like several posts have disappeared inexplicably. I'm still confused as to why the thread started off with "Yeah like thats really gonna happen". lol, wtf?

Re: BWL this weekend..
I'm not going to continue the debate. I'm going to state one fact, and I'm going to hope no one decides to turn it into a wtf-fest.
Many of the critical players that were AFK this weekend have the highest participation and highest DKP-earned of anyone in the guild.
Perhaps before we continue generalizing things, we look at the details and give those people a break. Crebis, Beep and myself all just happened to have a busy weekend at the same time. Oh noes! Do you honestly mean to say that the three of us that happened to be missing haven't contributed enough to the guild that we need replacement because gods forbid we miss a weekend at the same time? I know that's not what people meant, so let's just relax a bit.
For the record, I had a good time seeing the sunshine and the out of doors. Also, I socialized and spent time with my family. Not to mention I cleared an acre of leaves in my grandmother's backyard for her 80th birthday. I feel good about myself, don't get me down!

Re: BWL this weekend..
Heh, you think I don't know that? It would be nice if said admins would leave a little "I was here" message though, just so there's no confusion over why other posts make little sense or seem to come out of left field.
As for your comments Ark, no one is getting down on you for spending time with your family. It's absolutely great that you did all those things and got some time to decompress. As I said, I'll probably be doing the same in the coming weeks as well. The issue is, should the guild's raiding progress grind to a halt because three people had RL commitments? Should we have things set up in such a way that if four or five "key" people don't show, we can't do anything?
Just as no one should be giving you grief for spending time away from the game, you shouldn't give grief to those of us who were ready to take down the Broodlord this weekend for being upset that we weren't able to do so. Make sense?Ninja

Re: BWL this weekend..
Perhaps I was a bit too matter-of-fact in my post (that's why it got deleted). But I think those who got to read it and werent put off by it were the ones who understood it. Maybe I was a bit unclear. Who knows.
The point of what I was trying to say was simply we cant blame people who ARENT there for causing raids not to be full. There will always be RL issues why people cant show - it's a standard occurence, plain and simple.
Putting pressure on people to show up isnt the solution. Figure out what is and fix it. Otherwise people who DO show up get the worst end of the stick.
