Heya Arvid, you and I have already talked about this, but just for the record, I will miss you and your terrible jokes. I fully expect you to come and visit on TS occasionally.
Hugs,

Re: Bye TG
Hey Arvid,
I echo the same sentiments as everyone else, and it's kinda sad to see someone who helped me hit 60 originally, who I met while beating the living sh!t out of furblogs in felwood, and who eventually got the idea to go 3-man as much of strat as we could.
I'll say that I always had a lot of fun playing with you, and I hope all goes well for you in your business, and it gets off the ground enough that you can come back and play with us some more.
You got my foot in the door here, and I'll do my best to represent you accordingly, ttyl.

Re: Bye TG
Sad to see any TG member leave because of such actions. I hope you do consider to try out other games and still be a part of this community. Your always welcome.

No worries, I am confident we will continue to see Arvid often, so long as his real life permits!

Re: Bye TG
To be fair, real life issues are but ONE reason he gave for quitting the guild. It is logical to admit, as members leave, that some "ostracizing" is going on even if it is completely unintended. But with many leaving the TG guild, for whatever reason, it's not helpful to ignore it completely.

Re: Bye TG
Well, I couldn't just let this ride.
First, Atomic's post was generated when he was (ahem) under the influence...and was based from his perspective as a non-WoW player. While we welcome all input, it's difficult to respond to observations based only on watching the forums rather than actual in-game experience. Even so, your experience with WoW and our guild is your experience...not subject to argument. I also know that our guild is growing and adding new members at a rate greater than in the past, so the evidence of a "problem" is mixed.
I know we can do better about welcoming and incorporating new members. There is always room for improvement. If your experience was one of being ignored and isolated, that is an experience we regret and have worked to minimize its happening. I'm sorry if you felt ignored.
Part of our "reality" is that at this stage of our existence (2+ years of WoW), our guild is heavily weighted toward higher level players...level 60+ with a majority at or near level 70. For a new player, finding peers to venture and level with is much more of a challenge in that environment. We simply don't have enough beginners or low-level alts to make that easy. My personal experience on half a dozen characters is that most leveling is, in fact, a solo experience. Other's mileage may differ.
We have brainstormed from time-to-time about starting another TG-based WoW guild solely for the purpose of providing lower level players a place to hang out. We have thus far not pursued that, believing that (a) we don't want to further segment our TG WoW players, and (b) our shift toward squad-based groups DOES create the possibility of more peer grouping, including lower level players (mains or alts).Beep

Re: Bye TG
I, for one, appreciate all the time and effort that the officers put in to try and get groups for people and help others with quests, etc. I think if you took a poll 99% of us would agree that the officers bust their ass trying to make this a fun time for everyone. And I would bet a vast majority of us do feel like the TG guild is a welcome place.
Due to the nature of the game, players being of different levels, etc. it is just a fact that if the majority of the guild is at level 70 then getting a group at level 22 is a little more difficult. Many of us have alts that we try and run around on with lower level characters, but that's not going to happen every night.
Of course there are disagreements. However when a player "leaves" the TG guild they are generally on the same play server, often times they still group with many of us, and occasionally the disagreement is straightened out and they return.
I don't have a problem with anyone stepping up and saying how they feel about WoW as a "TG title" or others putting their two-cents in. But as a non-officer I want all of the TGers that are outside looking in that while you may see a few people coming and going that overall the guild is being run very well by very competent people. If someone is sending nasty tells to other players the officers do everything they can to find out the information. Its very easy to screenshot and send over to an officer and that player would be removed.
With the sheer number of people that call TG their home in WoW there are bound to be personality conflicts that cause problems. Overall while some may not agree with the direction of the guild as a whole I do think that we try and be helpful when we can. To those that have had a bad experience here I am sorry, but I just want to make sure that everyone reading this (WoW players and non-WoW players alike) knows that there are many of us that have a great time here. And quite a bit of that can be directly attributed to the effort that Beep, Luna, Orion and all of the other officers put in each and every day.Gigan - Shaman (Resto)
Pistos - Semi-retired Shadowpriest
...and other distractions of various levels.

Re: Bye TG
One of the main reasons we see leveling as solo is due to the fact that most of the server's population is 70...not just us. This server isn't a new one and most of the people have been on this since start. We have some that solely play their one toon just becaue they like it so much, and while it might be helpful to backtrack and help a friend/guildie, each person has their goals.
Obviously the lower person want to level and see what the game has to offer, but so does the level 70 when they "raid" end-gmae content and really start the teamplay aspect of the game. Yes there are lower instances, but we've run them over and over. We've just reached an expansion that was released in February, and while I had fun with the instances in the old world, I'm tired of them.
As for my alts, I have some, and I run them, mainly to get a break from the norm. If there are any within 5 levels of me, especiallyu below me, I try to group with them and such...but anything above 5 levels and it might turn in to a waste of my time unless the other person has done some of the legwork and I am just helping them tie up the loose ends. Our time in gmae is limited, and we all have our priorities.
Sorry so wordy, I just really dislike outside opinions when they sound so harsh and offer no constructive criticism. (*see below)
PS: Another guild means more leaders and we, frankly, are having enough of an issue finding leaders within this guild. People use this game to relax and socialize with friends. We don't have as many skilled leaders as other games that I have played while in TG...due mostly in part to having to try to suit the needs of such a diverse game that has so many things to do...It becomes hard to find a common objective...so people feel left out..
