Who We Are
Tactical Gamer has been an active and growing Alliance guild on Thunderhorn since March 2005. Since its creation, our core leadership has remained consistent making us one of the most stable guilds on our server. This stability has allowed us to grow to the size that we are today and attract the quality and talent that we have.
According to the
Blizzard Armory on March 19, 2008, Tactical Gamer has a total of
312 members,
174 of which are level 70.
Because of our size, you will find a wide range of interests and expectations amongst our membership. We have casual gamers, interested primarily in the social and questing aspects of the game. We have casual raiders, interested in the challenges that raiding content has to offer, but satisfied with experiencing it at a more relaxed pace. And we have a strong contingent of end-game raiders who desire to master all of the challenges that end-game content has to offer at a more accelerated pace.
To support this differentiation of interests within our guild, we support several distinct groups who operate independently to schedule and lead raids as they desire. We host a
Raid Calendar on our website that serves as a central point for raid leaders to schedule and members to sign-up for all raids. (

Tactical Gamer currently has 2 active raiding 'platoons' (
Resurgent and
Delirium) who focus their efforts on 25-man raid content. We also have 4 active raiding 'squads' (
Illidan,
Defiant,
Fate and
Cocidius) who focus their efforts on 10-man raid content. Each platoon/squad is at varying levels of progression through their targeted content and each offers a different pace of play, but all are made up of quality individuals committed to success.
Tactical Gamer has always been and will always be supportive of our member's personal efforts to balance their real life commitments with their
WoW commitments. We are uninterested in individuals who are focused entirely on their own personal in-game progression. Our successes have be a direct result of our ability to work together and distribute the loot that we've received in a way that will provide greatest benefit to the group. We have not had to institute complex methods to accomplish this distribution, but instead rely on people's good sense and willingness to forgo their marginal upgrade when there are others who might benefit from a much larger upgrade.

What We Have Done
Our most recent success came in early March when our Defiant squad successfully completed a full clear of Zul Aman. We are the
4th Alliance guild (7th overall) on Thunderhorn to be able to claim this accomplishment. <

Our additional BC raiding success is summarized in the attached Excel spreadsheet, with the caveat that some of the KZ dates are best estimates and may be slightly inaccurate. This matrix captures our guild's exposure to all raiding bosses in the Burning Crusade content, from our first attempt at that boss to our first kill. It also provides a brief indication as to the attention that we are currently paying to these bosses. As our guild squads and platoons continue their progression, expect this matrix to fill out even further.
