I was having problems with there being no system messages in the chat window, I had system Checked in the settings but it was still not showing up. I have heard of a few others that had this problem so I thought I would post the solution I found:

Goto C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\[your account name]\[your toon name] and open chat-cache.txt with Wordpad, if you just double click it it will open in notepad and it is alot harder to edit, so do yourself a favor and open it with Wordpad. If you scroll down a ways you will see "WINDOW 1" below it you will need to add "SYSTEM" where you see the other chat channels listed. It should look like the code below.

You can't see anything that the game says. For example, you cannot see dice rolls.
