Re: WoW Acronyms

A little research suggested that "proc" is short for Process. Courtesy of Blizzard:

Proc: A term used to denote when a special effect of an item randomly triggers or what the special effect of said item does. Proc only refers to a randomly triggered effect that arises from attacking or being hit. If your item has an ability to click it to make it cast a spell 100% on demand, that is not considered a Proc.

Re: WoW Acronyms

anyone ever heard of a STR based rogue? less burst damage? less 'unstable aggro stealing'?

Re: WoW Acronyms

Thanks for the info...
I was getting confused by all the acronyms being tossed around, as I've only been playing for a couple of months.

eesh.... this is way off now i HAVE 28% chance to crit ATM... =P (8% from items now).....

tarenth... how does RAP VS damage work... i have exactly 1551 RAP while in raid... how much AP = 1 DPS for weapon.. and how can i see what my max hit could possibly be against all the right odds (best crit acheivable)

Thread jacker. :P

You know all this information is in two other threads right? The "Stats and what they do for you" and "Hunter Basics: The Fundamentals".

14 AP = 1 DPS
1 DPS = +(base weapon speed) damage

1551 RAP = 110.79 DPS
2.90 speed bow with 110.79 DPS = +321.3 damage

Now just for kicks:
[Jagged Arrow] = 13 DPS = +37.7 damage
[Mithril Gyro-Shot] = 15 DPS = +43.5 damage
[Ice Threaded Arrow] = 16.5 DPS = +47.85 damage
[Thorium Headed Arrow] = 17.5 DPS = +50.75 damage

Now you're using [Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers] which has a min/max of 89-166.

You have a [Sniper Scope] installed so that raises it to 96-173.

So with 1551 RAP and using THA you do a nice +372.05 damage with the stock DPS increase. That means your damage range is 468.05 - 545.05

Add the slaying talent against certain mobs and that jumps to 482.09 - 561.40.

Of course this is all before damage mitigation by armor, so what you really hit for is anyone's guess. You can actually see the damage you do on your character screen. Its pretty accurate. Noob
