360 Headset: Using in FFoW
Probably most of you know this already but for the ones, like me, who can't understand why they can't hear anyone via headset....you have to be in a squad for it to work. Use the d-pad to create or request a sqaud.

This is one of the big pluses for the 360 version right now. It's nice to invite people to your squad then get rolling.

Agree. But I wish they would have included a way for squad leaders to talk with other squad leaders so that you could better coordinate the team as a whole. I think they are working on this for a later patch. But with a smaller squad, you get to know people better without the extra chatter.

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
I've gotten my XBL buddies to mostly get the Turtle Beach Headsets. I got the X2s and 1 of my buddies have the x3s. Luckily FFOW does have adjustable audio settings so it's easy to use with my headset. Wireless sound and all you have to do is have a cord from the earphones to the controller to have voice comms!
I have my sound settings at 10% master volume and 60% Sound Effects. That's the only way I can hear someone and I can still hear all sounds perfectly.

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
just in case you didn't know... what you can do on the 360 is before you boot up the game, create a chat channel... this could be just for squad leaders or everyone...
then start the game, now you can chat to your squad, squad leaders or all.Magnum

Huh? You mean private chat? Please explain more for me. I'm a bit confused.

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
What you can do is, before even starting the game... invite all your friends into a private chat via the Xbox 360 blade... then start the game, break into your own squads or whatever, as long as your all on the same side... then you have in game comms with your squad, and also can have multi-squads, what I call a platoon, all talking on the one private channel you started before game... it's a cheap way to get platoon level in game comms, till at least they get smart enough to put it in game...
screens showing how/where below:
Pick the chat or IM:

you then have video chat or four channels of voice chat:

Create and invite:

good luckMagnum

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
yeah, thanks for the screenies mag!
hmm... Since people seem to be clamoring for voice-comms beyond the 4-man (?? it's 5 in PC) squad, we should probably try and get this refined into an SOP for xbox players. If we can get something together that makes sense, I'll post it externally as I did here with our TS setup.

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
But it's sooooo slow. Another idea is to use the chat pad and have everyone on MSN messenger. Type quick messages to each other. That'd be faster for me instead of going into the blade system.

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
Once it's set up you won't need to go to the blade unless you want to change something... and this ain't the best idea, that will be up to the developers to fix/add.
just a way.Magnum

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
Have you done this? Every time I'm in a private chat, I can't talk to anyone in game.
So how it is supposed to work is that you can talk to you squad AND another person at the same time that is in private chat with you? Or can you talk with everyone who is in private chat with you at the same time you are talking to your squad?
Yes, I am confused. Yes I would like a FR on XBL so that you can talk me through it.

Re: 360 Headset: Using in FFoW
I've done it a while ago back when GRAW1 was first out... haven't tried it since, no need yet... will try and test later... people were complaining that that helped cheaters (by friends having a private chat on 2 different teams)...so maybe they addressed that in one of the updates.
