Team Xbox has a 2 page review... and It's like i wrote it myself... exactly what I see and feel... check out the longevity score...

    http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360...rmy-of-Two/p1/

(My recommendation... unless you must pass on these, or rent it, too many other games coming that deserve the purchase more. IMO.)

Re: anyone getting Army of two March 6th?

I don't know, that review seems a little harsh.

Only thing I can agree with is the fact they didn't include a "go here" function for the AI, otherwise, I just think the reviewer was lazy. I've had little problems with the AI, other than the fact I couldn't tell him to "go here", and that I couldn't hold the aggro while he went ninja. On the other hand, I tell him to hold aggro, he does so, I tell him to stay, he finds the nearest cover, and sticks behind it. I tell him to cover me, while following me, and he does a tremendous job of it.

He DID NOT run directly into fire unless I told him to advance. Does that mean I only had him sit back and cover me? Hell no! Most situations I had him go in first, with me right behind. One mission had us rescuing someone who was unable to walk on their own... I picked that someone up, while my good ol AI buddy took point. The AI did a good job, but to be fair, I had to tell him to stop at some points, because he just kept going forward.

I think the people having problems with the AI don't realize you have aggressive and passive mode. Or maybe they do... all I know is, when I started out and didn't realize there were two versions of every command, I agreed with them.

Okay, enough about the friendly AI comments, how about the enemy AI? Challenging. Their shots and frags aren't always spot on, but they do a wonderful job of suppressing and flanking you, not to mention they love their cover and blind-fire (then again, so do I!) One problem, I find, would be the "boss" battles and the health bars... it's a bit arcadey, but then again, if you're coming into this game thinking "realism", you're barking up the wrong tree.

Story... I really don't know, I think the story itself seems a little lacking, but it's delivery is great fun, very cinematic too. It's a pretty basic story, or, rather, the plot is, but I'm impressed on how it gets told. I wouldn't call it a Call of Duty 4 killer, but I wouldn't call it bland or boring either. Point-in-case, one mission has you parachuting onto a hijacked aircraft carrier... without spoiling it, the finale for this mission is a real "downer"(heeuck, heeeuck!). I guess that doesn't really prove the story itself is any good, but believe me when I say, it's full of excitement, and plenty of "woah" and "oh ****!" moments. Not to mention, the missions are LONG, and I'll even go so far as to say they are diverse too (if you want me to go into detail about this, I will).

    My quick reply to that review;
-The only problem I had with the AI is the fact I couldn't tell him to go to a specific place...
-The graphics are beautiful... only reason my eyes would hurt from playing that game, is if I were playing it too much (which I have been, heh)
-The sound was good, but the environmental effects were great. Some missions had enemy choppers coming in to drop more baddies for me to shoot... you could hear them coming from a distance, and the sound really made it clear they were getting close. Not to mention, the sound was so detailed... like one mission had this happen in a ravine, the you could hear the rotor 'whip'ing bouncing off the walls of the ravine. GRAW2 doesn't come close in this regard, the sound did a damn good job. I can't believe they said what they said in that review, what a load of bull****. Sorry.
-Sucks we only got 5 emotes and a few masks, true. But the weapon customization is great. I pimped out my .44, it's a thing of beauty.
-Little disappointed about the multiplayer only being 2v2 too, but I haven't tried it, so I really can't tell you anything about it.
-Co-op campaign is great for two players who are really in-tuned with teamwork. Lunisix and I had a game going earlier tonight, he did most of the "aggro" cover fire, while I did my flanking thing (although, some situations required different tactics, and it happened quite often... in the one mission we did, lol). I think if you're having problems trying to figure out who does what, you shouldn't be blaming the game. JMO.

I enjoy the game, and I really enjoy the singleplayer campaign (I've yet to finish it... I've been playing since around 9pm, it's currently 6:30am... yeah, heh), so I may be biased... but I don't care for that review at all. The guy didn't like the friendly AI, so he spends half the review bitching about that, then he complains about how you only get 5 emotes, and some masks... and then, he's on the fact he and his buddy are too busy trying to be goodie-goodie with one another, causing their ability to work as a team to fail.

Sorry Magnum, I can understand why you don't like the game, and you have your reasons, and I have no problems with your opinion of the game, but that review from that teamxbox fella.. it needs to be re-written into something with a little more substance and a lot less nit-picking. To be fair though, my little review of his review could do with much of the same, but I'm not the one being paid for my opinions

Wow... sorry for the rant, shew! I just think it's a solid game. It's got beauty (both visuals and sound), it's got substance (I LOVE the main characters, and playing them is such a joy), and it's got it's own little style of bad-assery. Heh. I likes it. To me, this is like Gears of War, but I actually enjoy this version of it

Rent it, buy it... whatever, just play it!

Re: anyone getting Army of two March 6th?

Well I still like you, lol... but have to disagree...and i have video to prove my points and the reviewer, which I happen to agree with...

The hanger door opens we each are behind cover and we both engage... a number of rounds to the chest and the enemy runs right past our two cover positions to get behind us... so now the firefight is from multiple sides...redicoulous... and about the partner AI, I don't know how many times I've had to go back and find him either down or stuck behind a obstacle...

Sorry my friend, I am in total disagreement when it comes to the gameplay, and might share a video later of my points...but I do like the graphics and sounds...MP is a joke...where is at least 8 vs 8 team deathmatch.

You played a long time, and went through alot of the game...did you finish it yet? I, I start it, play for about 30 minutes or so then exit in disgust.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose

It certainly isn't a realistic game though, but you gotta love it when the baddies move up and punch you in the face, only to end up with a hurt fist

This seems to be a common theme for this game. Lots of people are loving it, and are rating it a 7-8, while some folks really dislike it. Maybe Ill rent this title next weekend.

Re: anyone getting Army of two March 6th?

Just a quick update on the multiplayer... this is something I wrote out on the xbox foums, seems a lot of people are experiencing lag with this game in 2v2 mode

    Greig91 wrote:
I enjoy it but a lot of the games lag which is pretty annoying.
I'd have to agree with this, but I've only played a couple 2v2 rounds from the same host, so I don't know if the lag is a global problem with this game, or it was just the connection...

The lobby sucks too, soon as the game is over, everyone is booted out, no after-action talk, nothing. Once the game is launched, you're only able to talk to your partner. Once the game is over, everyone is basically muted, and you've got no option to continue with another round with your current group, you need to back out and start a new game.

When the lag wasn't being a ***, the modes were pretty fun, but it seems most everyone already knows the objectives by heart, or, so it seemed like it. I had a guy on my team for a round, he knew EXACTLY where to go and how to get there, he also knew the best positions to destroy objectives from a distance... I don't know.

NOT impressed with the multiplayer, with the lag and the lobby, and the fact people seem to already know all the little "spots", dispite bring told "random objectives". I don't know, maybe I need to try it again... I will too... heh.
That being said, the co-op doesn't lag... and it's a hoot!

Oh, by the way, the multiplayer (co-op included) is region locked. What does that mean? No Americans playing with Europeans... Americans can play with Canadians though... heh
