Re: Xbox 360 Freezing
Curses, mine just got the ring of death again. Weird there was no warning this time. Been playing normal and just fired it up today and it froze at the loading screen. Rebooted and got the 3 red lights....took out the HD and tried again...booted to login screen froze, then 3 red lights again....coffin on the way

Re: Xbox 360 Freezing
"Again"?
If I could get my money back on my 360, I would do that in a heartbeat and use the cash to buy games for my PS3. It's not that I don't enjoy the 360 and the games, but knowing I've got a piece of hardware just ready to get bricked (as it's already done) doesn't make me want to invest any more money in games or accessories for the thing.

Re: Xbox 360 Freezing
I heard they are using all the good components for the elite systems. No idea if that makes any sense, but something to think about. I love my 360, I just hate the failure rate, and disappointed in the way they built it.

Re: Xbox 360 Freezing
The 360 Elite on display at Best Buy near my office was sporting the RROD the last time I was there. So they may be using good components, but they seem to still have some issues.
I'm in the same boat as you with the 360. I enjoy the games a lot but I'm beyond pissed at the way they designed the hardware. I would have spent an extra $150 on the stupid thing if they offered a model that had greater hardware integrity.

Re: Xbox 360 Freezing
My problem is I got mine from Overstock. I got the premium system about a little over a year ago for 312 shipped. So I was happy with the price compared to what others were paying, it just stinks to have the down time, especially with no warning. It went from functioning fine to not booting over night while turned off...lol.

I paid 343$ for Premium at launch. 20% off I got.

Re: Xbox 360 Freezing
So. I got my 360 back last Friday and hooked it up on Saturday. So far so good. I got in a copy of Tiger Woods 2006 through the Tactical Gamer SaySwap community a few days earlier so I've been playing that a bit.
Pleasantly surprised with the receipt of the game as it was still brand new in the wrapper with security seals. Not a bad trade for the $1 or whatever it cost me.
I picked up Halo 3 and Bioshock today. Not sure what one I'm going to want to really play first. I tried a bit of Halo 3 but now want to check out Bioshock after getting a taste of it at JMJ's place.
