Week In Review

  • Week In Review - 6/30/2011

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Gaming Universe, I invite you to join me for our first Week In Review.

This is a new weekly news update that will cover any major news brought to the attention of your TG Content Development team! This being the first installment, it's not going to be (quite) jammed to the brim with eye-popping gaming goodness, but it'll get the job done. My word on that. To intercept the next question before it's asked, no, the Week In Review will not be replacing our other beloved front page articles. So for you infojunkies out there, think of this as your quick fix compared to your full-fledged front page drug of choice.

Without further ado, let's dive in!

    EVE Online: Incarna Update Released
Tactical Gamer's very own EVE Online community liason DamionRayne has provided us with a quick little snip of front-lines intel on the new expansion:

So far the addition of these systems to the game has proven to increase immersion and depth, while adding possibilities for new avenues of gameplay and story telling. This happened alongside the release announcement for Dust 514, a planet-side Battlefield style MMOFPS set alongside EVE Online and directly interacting with it.
Many thanks to Damion and be sure to look forward to his full length article on EVE Online: Incarna, due out next week. Video Production Gets A New Forum At TG
I'm sure that all of you have seen this by now. No? Oh, well allow me to enlighten you! What used to be an obscure and underused subforum in our humble corner of the internet, Video Production has received full front-forum privileges! Through the hard work, dedication and much horse-beating (note: no actual horses were harmed in the process) of your various administrators and community members, the forum gods were persuaded to make it much easier for you to find all of your videographical resource type stuff.

The forum contains all the goodies that you're used to, like tutorials, intros/outros, video resources, and the ever-indispensable advice of your fellow community members. So make sure you check it out. The new forum can be found on the main forums page, located just below the Sandbox on the list.

Congratulations to this year's winners! I'm sure that every one of you can join me in looking forward to playing these with heavily baited breath, and in some cases, a significant amount of drool. Keep those keyboards clean, kids!

Lastly, although I have been strictly forbidden from divulging the master plan of our all-knowing, all-seeing Administration, there are some big changes coming down the pipe for TacticalGamer in the near future. Dont worry, nobody is getting smacked with a banhammer and you're still going to be able to enjoy the games, forums and community you know and love. No, the changes I'm talking about are of the GOOD variety. So keep your ears to the ground and your eyes peeled.
As always, your Content Development team is always looking for quality material to feed into your ocular receptors (for you laymen, thats your EYES). But remember, we're not supermen-gods-of-the-internet (although some of us pretend to be quite often) and ALWAYS appreciate community support! So if you have something you'd like to see in the Week In Review, have new hardware or software you'd like to see reviewed (yes, we do BOTH hardware and software), or would even like to contribute a full length article yourself, DONT HESITATE!

Drop us a line in the Submit Content Forum (which can also be found at the very bottom of the forums, right next to the CAA forums) with your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and articles! Did I mention that there might even be rewards in it for you? Oh yeah, that too!

Thanks for reading! More for you next week, my fine fellow gamers!

For anyone that is interested, the first Red Orchestra is on sale on steam now for $7.49. There is still an active community in it that plays on a daily basis. For $7.49, there really is almost nothing to lose by trying it.
