For all the time I've been a member here at TG, I've never watched the community embrace a game as anticipated as Battlefield 3. Looking back on my experiences with 2142, which was well established by the time I arrived, the early experiences I had with the game and this community were some of the best. We were all still riding the high of having found such a great group of like-minded people with whom we could share our gaming experiences--and it showed in the fairly unified outlook of the 2142 community. To be sure, all wasn't sunshine and daffodils; we had our differences, but when worse came to worse, we were usually able to find common ground (or would agree to disagree and life would move on).

Most everyone I've talked to has been looking forward to BF3 for one reason or another. Many cite the updated graphics and modern setting, while some are excited about the single player campaign. Others simply hope for a return to the general feel of the earlier Battlefield games. As for me, I'm looking for a return to that charged, united atmosphere of camaraderie that's so often found here at TG. Am I excited about the game itself? You bet your saccharine posterior I am. I'm as much of a sucker for a good first-person shooter as the next gal. But in the grand scheme of things, it's the nights of hyper-coordinated play, smack talk, and laughter that will make this game all that it could be for me.

Hope to see you there. Bring your A-game, and remember: we're all here to have fun.
