hey E-Male, I'm on lunch break doing a bit of catch up on your videos. Good stuff as always.
As a new squad leader (aspiring one) I find it very helpful to hear how you do COMMs in your videos-- short, clear, and easy to understand. Do you usually stay back as an SL and let your SMs be a bit forward of you, so you can see how the battle is shaping up?
Also cool to see that you use Assault with 40mm; that was my favorite kit in BC2.
Yes, I usually lead from the rear. This ensures I have the big picture, know where my men are and where they are in relation to enemy positions, and die less -- nothing interrupts SLing more than frequent dying, and it causes your men to move out of position and waste time reviving you instead of killing the enemy.
And comms -- that is my goal, concise (short with high info value), clear in meaning and easy to understand and follow.
I used to go as medic most often when Squad Leading, but that creates the expectation that I will be available for revive -- sometimes SL as Medic is very good, sometimes it means that I am putting myself in the line of fire and risking losing situation awareness. I suspect their is no one best kit for SL, but I believe the priority of the SL must be to stay alive and keep his squad active in the field (not frequently wiped out).
