Way of the Gun - Realistic Room Clearing Tactics

Rate this Entry
I like this movie, but this scene is one of my favorites. Rarely in motion pictures do you see actual tactics put to use.

This reminds me of the room clearing tactics that Zedic and Katanama showed some of us 31st members during one of your practice sessions.

Very helpful and useful. Even when I walk into the office where I work I mimic how I would enter from a tactical stand point, or where I would place evasive/covering fire.

enjoy:

Easily one of my top 3 movies, and scenes of all time.

Funny I saw this...my friend just text me the other day asking what rifle Longbaugh was using in the ending shootout. After I answered him, I popped the movie in and watched it again for the 500th time...and still loved it.

But for sure, the gun stuff is really well done.

Randy, another great example where film gets it right is the excellent 'street gun fight' scene in Heat with DeNiro and Pacino. The use of suppressive fire, peeling off and coordinated reloads etc is top draw (they had the former British SAS trooper who goes under the pseudonym Andy McNabb as a consultant. I'll drop a link in.

Yes you are spot on, and HEAT is another prime example, even the door breaching scene with the shotgun is accurate, and the checking of the pistol's etc.

If I get a chance I will post those two vids also.

Way of the gun is one of those underrated movies that has some really awesome accurate tactical scenes.

I believe a Fmr. Navy SEAL was the tactical coordinator on Way of the Gun.

Also wicks if you get the chance read Andy McNabb's Biography if you haven't already, its worthwhile!

    Thanks for the post btw!!

    Watch Narc

Way of the Gun has a funny in a sick and twisted kind of way, but I think Narc has one of the best/grittiest openings.
