Thanks for violating US flag code.

Do non-US citizens have to keep to the code? And what happens if an American violates it (in America)? Is it a civil offense, a criminal offense, or are they just liable to be beaten up and called rude names?

Westy, nobody has to follow anyone else's flag code. It's just disrespectful to wear the American flag, and blatantly so. I treat all flags as our own, and try to follow their flag codes when possible. For example, I would not let other flags touch the ground, wear them, or disrespect them.

Treat others how you wish to be treated. It's a kindergarten concept that apparently Canadians ignore.

Ok, thanks. I was just wondering whether it was an actual law or if it was just the generally-accepted list of rules that it's nice to keep to.

Skud what about boating flags? Or Charlie Brown flags?

Westy it seems you brought out skuds true colors, notice his last sentence, completely contradicts his previous one, unless he wants you to treat him with disrespect.

E-Male obviously is just having some fun, as an American citizen, and Skud correct me if I am not up to code or your personal American Citizens code, but E-male isn't doing anything wrong imho. Yes I wouldn't have made a cape out of the flag, but he's not burning it, he didn't crumple it up into a little ball and throw it on the ground and as long as its not touching the ground while being tied around his neck i really don't see why everyone has to get their panties in a bunch.

Btw e-male where did you get that hammer and sickle t-shirt? I like it. I'm a fan of the old Russian Commie images.

Oh also if you all haven't noticed the Super Hero E-Male is going for, isn't actually a superhero at all, He's Obama. Because Obama is a true socialist.

It is art. That in itself needs no explanation.

As to the 'flag code' see the history of the American flag in fashion and art (to say nothing of the SC judgments in this area vis a vis expression and the flag) . . .

As to disgrace, visit a local museum of modern art.

As to disrespectful to wear an American flag, see the use of American flags in fashion design and art.

BTW, I just finished another visit to the American north west.

Beautiful people, incredible geography, wonderful hospitality, and great food.

And I picked up a nice American flag in a garage sale . . .

And if I was to name my superhero, I think the recent events in Washington demand the hero be named:

    Dysfunctional Man
