And so it begins.....

Rate this Entry
I have taken off some time from my hobby and TG. The reasons number many but that might be for another post.....

Since my 'return' I have come to love Arma2:PR. My goal is to start to post more and get more activity into our forums at TG for this mod. I know at one point we had a server and such but I do not know what happened to it, be it a lack of administration ON the server, the server administrators themselves, issues with the DEVs and our administration....whatever, the point being now is I have to venture out to another Clans server to get my new found love's fix.

I have also redone my rig and and one or two steps away from getting it to where I would like it to be for the release of Arma3 and the subsequent release of PR. With these upgrades I am not able to FRAPS my game play. This is something that I have always wanted to do and like the title of my first blog, the adventure begins in filming.

As you will see I am not very good yet, but I hope to start to upload videos of what it means to be TG tagged player playing the games we love. I am still getting the hang of recording input, HD quality and other things like so many of our community members excel at. So tips and helpful constructive critique is always welcome of anything I do. All of my videos for the time being will be "raw" footage that is un-edited so that you can get the full scope of what the situation is and how you can see me react to them. Yes, some of the parts may be a little boring, but that is what the seek feature is in youtube!!

So to end the begning..... I have a YouTube channel now and I will try and start to blog.....it is not my favorite thing to do, but it may help shed some light to others and how I think and the reasons behind the stuff I do. Enjoy!!

Ouch Jack mate, that stings a bit. The simple fact was not enough people at TG were playing it, in fact not enough people were playing it full stop. There is barely enough population to fill one server. At one stage we had all the population, then it spread over two servers, sort of half and half and then tilting one way or the other dependent on time of day. Now there aren't enough people playing in total to fill the server that is active. There were no issues between the TG PR Arma Admin Team and the Dev Team, full stop. Kinda wild and dangerous speculation there, ever for a blog. If you are unsure of something, usually better not to simply make stuff up lol. Not sure who you have been listening to, but whoever it is, they don't know a lot about what actually happened.

Regardless, good to see you back and looking forward to catching up with you in game and on TS.

Wasn't speculating just stating as I see things coming back and while looking from afar, there was no malicious intent to the statement, again just speaking from my point of view. Sometimes things are not so bright, other times they are. Did something happen?? I haven't hard anything, nor have I been listing to anyone, but I would be interested to know if something did. Here is to the future and hopefully a bright and vibrant one at that. Thanks for the comment, this whole thing is new to me and wasnt really expecting comments.....makes me blush a little

    Good to see you too

In regards to Arma2:PR, I believe you must own Arma2 Combined Operations (Or a combination of Opperation Arrowhead and Arma2), and you must download the free PR mod from RealityMod.com. You can check our what is needed to get up and running by visiting the thread in the PR forums located HERE, but for the most (I think) current requirements definatly go to RealityMod.com.

Very true. I am hoping that they make a new posistion on the DEV team that is for quality Assesment for user submited content, i.e. missions. I think that is what is killing it right now. Supposedly there are lots of user submitted missions but the DEVs (understandably so) are to busy to get to fully look into the mission to see if the meet the requirements set by the DEVs.

If that is the case then why do they not open up a new posistion and start the interview process for candidates. I think people would be more than willing to step up, be vetted, and represent the PR mod and only let in content that is of high quality. Thanks for the comment.

To be accurate, you were speculating, massively, and attempting to lay blame for a title not taking off on the Administrative side of things.

    . No ambiguity there.

Based on what?? Your knowledge of events? Having an opinion is one thing, having an informed one is another. People always make the mistake of assuming that something being their 'opinion' somehow gives it validity, it doesn't. Understanding the situation, knowing the ins and outs, having some knowledge about the scenario gives validity to the opinion. Otherwise you are basically making stuff up and putting it out there. At no point do you speculate that maybe people simply didn't want to play the title after a while due to lack of content or other issues, or that it simply wasn't very popular. Only a rudimentary knowledge about PR Arma would mean that you were aware that the playerbase at it's peak was absolutely tiny in comparison to every other title that TG has hosted. Other titles launched and as new content was not forthcoming the already small playerbase drifted away.

Definately checkout the video production forum for help/tips.
With Fraps, you might try recording at half screen, this saves a lot of performance, disk space, and since few people on youtube view full screen more than 720p, it looks just fine.
Admittedly i initially had issues figuring out what audio settings worked for me, but just do a couple samples and pick that which fits what your looking for.

Maybe ill catch you in there sometime. I always wanted to find other teamwork minded individuals, but just had a hard time achieving that.
