Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

    Don't forget the /pwn modifier!

Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

This didn't work for me, but a quick search turns up this reason for why it doesn't:
This is due to the fact that shortcuts for Steam games are now URL links. Follow these instructions to create a filesystem shortcut. Please note that the change to URL links was made to fix a bug with the icons in the Windows 7 taskbar. While using this method, you may experience that issue.

Create a shortcut to Steam (Steam.exe)
Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties"
In the target field, add the parameter "-applaunch <appID> <parms>" (no quotes)

AppID can be found by looking at the URL of the store page for the game

Parms are any additional launch parameters for the game (not required)
Click "Change Icon" and browse to "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam\games" and select the appropriate icon (if it exists)
The shortcut should now launch the specified game
I won't have time to try it out until later, though.

I added Wyz's suggestion with a shortcut directly to the NS2 executable, and it works just fine.
birdie_in_Texas:ok..i feel stupid here..what is "NS"..? Wyzcrak:Natural Selection. Don't feel at a loss for not knowing the acronym. Feel at a loss for not having experienced the game.

            Yep, that works for me.

I guess you just can't use Steam to create the shortcut...
