  • what to do when mods fail to load due to Steam Workshop

UWE's server design dictates that the server must verify mods with Steam Workshop upon every mapchange. It's non-negotiable. Steam Workshop is not stable or reliable. So, the mods often fail to load.

When this happens, you can use the game's built-in vote menu to cycle the map, and the odds are good that the mods will then successfully load.

    Two notes:

    1) If two consecutive mapchanges doesn't fix the problem, I likely need to get involved (and the breakage is likely my fault)

    2) the game's built-in vote menu is disabled when the TGNS mod loads successfully

If Steam Workshop's failure prevents you from joining the server, you may "Reset Servers" on the TGNS Portal.
