  • Greetings From Crete

Greetings all, it is I, the Awesome.

Crete is gorgeous, much nicer place than Bah'Rain or Du'Bai (****ty Arab countries with a million hookers and 7 dollar beers)

Crete is much like Malta, which I'm sure I posted about sometime ago. The woman are absoultley beautiful, gorgeous, never seen so many in my life in one area.

The Navy still pretty much sucks nuts, although the pay out here isn't to bad when I'm out here.

I'm on my final stretch out here, suppose to be getting back at the end of the month (hopefully)

Of interesting note though, I was on the news!! Thats right, my ship, the USS Trash...i mean Ashland was fired upon by dirty rotten terrorists!! They not only missed a sitting duck, but they missed 3 times! For which I'm thankful for obviously.

Other than that, not much going on.

Anything of interesting note I should be aware of? Aside from the million and odd new members it would seem...I'm starting to feel like an old man around here. :row__738:

Your taking leave when you get back right?

Oh ya, big hurricane down south. Bad stuff.

Katrina took and continues to take lives, dead and living. Google for it if it's news to you.

Battlefield2 came out recently, and it's huge here. Massive, in fact.

Apophis and Luna are expecting a baby. I think they're naming it Wyzcrak (unconfirmed).

Let those bastards miss. I'm glad you're safe. Stay that way.

      Thanks for the shout out.

      Be well.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

            OP8's post reminds me...

Eclipse, the average skill level on the NS server is stupidly-above what it was when you left. That makes for great games, but bring your dancin' shoes. :)

                  Re: Greetings From Crete

Well you have my assurance that everyone here is grateful those dirty ****tards missed your ship. Though I'm sure your crack NS skills would have gotten you easily out of harms way if the **** had hit the fan. If you're ever in harms way just remember to pull out your cell phone to call up wyz, he'll scan the area for you and give you a phase gate so you can come back here for a heavy armor and an hmg. Then just go back through and dirkadirkamohammadjihad them...just dont ask how he does it...if you do everything might vanish in a cloud of logic...

Back when I started playing NS I thought ns_eclipse was named for you >.<

Come back alive man...you've had one close call too many.

                    Re: Greetings From Crete

Eclipse left his cell phone in a movie theater a few months back.

And I believe he told me he was sitting around at his computer trying to come up with a new alias for NS, because he changed aliases with each game, and saw a pack of gum on the table.

100% True. :icon_lol: on both parts...gotta buy a new phone when I get back. :icon9:

That's awesome, nothin like a good ass kickin for a coming home reunion game :row__691: but seriously I expected nothing less from this community.

Dude, I'm so old I was here before it was TG, anybody remember Network 42? yea...that's how old I am =P

Oh well...I'm in Rota, Spain now...geez I move around don't I? Which pretty much means I'm in the Atlantic and will be for sure on my way home after we leave here...can't say much about Rota though (duty day on the day we pull in, f***!) but I'll make an addendum tommorow when I go out and get trashed...I mean...who the hell am I kidding? You know that drunken sailor song? Yea it's completley true.

So yours miss too huh? The last ones that shot at us had a bad day. A very bad (and short) day. I really wish you guys would stop bringing marines over here on those damn boats, I'm tired of saving their sorry asses when their **** breaks down on the road. Currently up to 13 IEDs removed from the road up to the elections last week, I had the wonderful job of escorting all of the ballots here in Paktika province to the capital for processing. Thought I'd drop a line to you folks, have a nice day.
