  • Using GameOver Alerts to remotely determine which Captains Night round has just ended

The TGNS Portal has a "GameOver Alerts" feature by which it will alert your browser when a game has just finished. It can be a handy way to know when to join the server and play in a new game.

    Server Info - TGNS Portal

Because spectators aren't thrown to ReadyRoom between Captains Game rounds, a quick visual inspection of the player list after a GameOver Alert might reveal whether Round 1 or Round 2 has just completed. If spectators are the only players not in the ReadyRoom right after the GameOver Alert, it's very likely that Round 1, not Round 2, has just finished.

Just noticed that nuance (not part of my build design), and I thought I'd share.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Sounds like a good thing to check, as the in game server browser doesn't show team or detailed information on current players on a server. Thanks for the heads up Wyzcrak!
