  • Captains force-start: if no comm, one team member starts with 0 pres

    Captains mode has long imposed no consequence on teams beginning without a commander. Teams beginning Captains games without a commander will now see that one randomly selected team member begins with 0 personal resources.

    This allows Captains games to better serve as an educational tool for normal play. Captains' strongest offering has always been its positive influence on our normal games, and aligning our Captains strategies with our normal games stands to strengthen our normal play.

    I really enjoyed the variety, but it came at too great an opportunity cost. Captains play is best when it altogether promotes gameplay we can apply throughout the week.

    Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
