    Do we want it on? How long should it be set to? What were the playtesting servers set to?

    Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

      it was never used in v.2.0 so why need it in 3?

          i say 2 seconds tops. 3 seconds is too long imho, and may lead to long stalemates, or have other consequences that i'm too lazy to elaborate on that involve momentum.

            co maps are fast.. i see no reason to have invulnerability. It would just make the games longer... If it comes to the point when you are spawning then dieing that just means you are loosing.

            be patient the game will end soon enough

              Dude, Why bother with it on, If i'm in the aliens hive I'm hitting the hive, not the aliens anyway. And the aliens would get stomped on if they couldn't kill spawning marines as the rest bite the CC.

                No invuln time. It was removed during the beta because it created stalemates where marines were defending and would get a sizable headstart on any attacking aliens while they were still invulnerable. Thus, aliens had an extremely hard time breaking the marine base. It really sucks for alien attackers and draws out Combat a lot.

                    Yeah? try going what i went though. spawn i get kiled. spawn, i get killed over and over for 2Omins. i say atleast 2 so you can upgrade..

                      For now we'll leave it off. Continue to use this thread to comment based on more and more games. If there's enough demand for it, we'll do what is necessary with this variable.

                        That was worth mentioning twice.

                        I played on servers with it on, I hated it, For exactly this reason.

                            From the 2 games of Combat I played its supposed to be fast with tons of action. So why in gods name would you want to be invuln for X amount of time is beyond me..
