Some settings you guys might want to adjust if your running NS on Steam for the first time.

*This is for those who dont know the HL engine/commands that well*

First we will fix that bad, almost shaking look of your screen.
    1. In your console change your fps_max to 85 or even 100
    2. Next to make it look smooth when you move your mouse go into your config(found on the main menu) and go to advanced and check off your mouse smoothing. (enable it)

Next we will adjust those connection variables, apply these commands in your console. (cable users only)
    1. cl_updaterate 25
    2. cl_cmdrate 35
    3. rate 9999

    Gameplay controles
    1. hud_fastswitch 1 (0 is default) allows you to quickly change weapons.
I will add more as I think of them.........

I guess this is the right place for this:

I have heard folk screaming about loosing your config, you can copy your config.cfg and autoexec.cfg to the new steam directory to get everything back to the way it was. It worked well for me.

Also, em, do you mean to turn on or off mouse smothing?

Emanon, me and billy hate that damn bar thing that runs accross your screen when you move your mouse, like the graphics are lagging or somthing. If this works, I love you.

Also, I think that autoexec.cfg functionality is replaced by userconfig.cfg.
If you look at the stock config.cfg with the NS Steam install, the last line reads "exec userconfig.cfg". Just FYI.

its almost a tear, but you can only see it when moving so no pics will show it. (mouse smoothing will remove this, See above)

In my opinion leave v-sync on. there is no point in having your computer working harder than what your monitor can show. Pluss it looks much better.

I will work on moving that bar.

net_graph 3 1, 2, 3 each have different graphs, each tell you different info. 3 is most helpful because it takes up less fps.
