    I use the 3jump script here for skulk:

    Code:
    alias jump "+jump;wait;-jump"
    alias +ejump "jump;wait;jump;wait;+jump"
    alias -ejump "-jump"
    bind space "+ejump"
    Which helps me with the timings for bhopping, but whenever I switch to lerk it really screws up flight.

    So I was wondering if it is possible to have it switch to normal +jump everytime I evolve to a lerk, and then return to +ejump when I go back to skulk. Basically +ejump should be on anytime I'm a skulk, and off when I'm a lerk.

    I tried making a skulk.cfg and lerk.cfg and execing them in game when I switch lifeforms, but it says their not a valid .rc or .cfg file :-/.

    What I Tried:

    skulk.cfg

    The 3jump script listed above

    lerk.cfg

    bind "ctrl" "+jump"

    Where did you put your skulk.cfg and lerk.cfg files? In the same folder as your userconfig.cfg file?

    Show us the bind you use to execute your .cfg files. Maybe that will help.

      It's in the half-life\ns folder (same as userconfig\config)

      skulk.cfg:

      Gives me an error when I try to type exec skulk.cfg or exec lerk.cfg (not a .cfg or .rc file)

      I was going to try to manually switch it to whenever I lerk, then hit f11 when I go skulk again.

        Thats just weird...I really can't imagine what might cause that, aside from silly things like misspelling your filename and having a "skukl.cfg" instead of a "skulk.cfg", or something like that. It can't be anything IN the skulk.cfg file, because NS is never executing it in the first place.

        These are ordinary txt files, made with notepad and renamed to have a .cfg extension, right?

        *ponders*

        Do you have Windows or Mac? I know file extensions work completely differently on macs.

          If your still having problems, just use a mousewheel to BHOP, and the cntrl as regular jump.

          Or you can use 2 jump keys. 1 with 3 jump, other reg.

          Or I can help you out. Delete all your cfg's and I'll redo this for you with a Marine, Skulk, Lerk, and userconfig.cfg.

          It's good to have a marine cfg to change your rates or fps and such. And if you want any other scripts ( pistol, wigglewalk, med binds, holding a button slashes your knife, but when you let go changes back to slot 1)

          If anyone wants these just let me know.

              xtcmen, i would absolutly love someone to go over some scripts for me
              i need the basic outlines for a few things, and then I'd customize them for myself.
              bhop, pistol 3/3/3/1, and i'd like a script that switches from lmg to pistol on empty clip.

              what else can i think of.
              right click swipe/left click blink - fade
              RC umbra / LC bite -lerk
              leap RC / LC bite (only active when 2nd hive is up, else, para RC

              MOST IMPORTANT, and i dunno how hard this is, I want a button that turns off ALL the people talking. and ingame music, so I can hear for a hive when i'm comm, and so when i'm a marine and people are voice spamming... well you get it...

                Thanks para, that's exactly what I needed.

                turns out I was typing "exec lerk" instead of "exec lerk.cfg"

                That's cool, you can have customized keys for each lifeform, handy.

                  Best thing to do is make a config for each alien type and put binds for those specific aliens in there. I use this personally, it's not really scripting at all but just rebinding keys. For switching based on the hives, this is not possible with scripting, it requires you to make the switches.

                    I'd also use a 2 shot pistol script, not a 3. It'll be more accurate and won't lock you up anywhere near as badly using it.

                      If I know C++ and VB and scripting in Mirc, this shouldn't be that bad... :)

                        Paranoid said it all pretty much. The only 2 scripts I think that are useful out of the ones you listed was the the mute button, and pistol script. THe out of ammo one is useless and I think impossible? and all your other scripts can be easily done with Lastinv.

                        If you refuse to use lastinv, you are going to have about 3 cfgs. A skulk, fade, lerk, marine, userconfig. In the Skulk / lerk (can be the same cfg). And you can't set the skulk.cfg to have to modes for the parasite/leap, unless you want more cfgs. I suggest just doing the parasite manually.

                          I have another scripting question:

                          I want to have f12 my key for toggling duck (the new one added in 3.1).

                          the command is "toggleduck"

                          Basically I want it so when I hit f12 it will speak "on" to let me know that I hafta hold shift to climb walls, but when i Hit f12 again, it will speak "of (sounds like off)".

                          Any ideas?

                              Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.
