  • I guess this is a script question

Got a new hard drive and didnt back up my config. Anyways I had MOUSE2 bound so when i would click once, it would switch from slot1 to slot 2 (i.e. bite to parasite), and when i clicked again, it would go back to slot 1. Also had MOUSE4 bound to go from slot 1 to slot 3 (i.e bite to leap).

I searched the other script threads here, and they all have quick scripts scripts that are "press and let go" type where it switches back right away. I dont want that. I just want it to work like last inv does.

Can anyone help me? I dont think it was a script because I played on mp_blockscript 1 servers all the time.

Blockscripts, from what I remember, only block scripts that use a command that has a + or -. So no shooting or jumping. But it looks like your script would not use any of those commands.

This is just from what I remember, and may be completely off.

Hi Palagi, and welcome to the forums. Make sure you look through all the required readings and register your STEAM_ID with your profile. Also, thank you for actually searching through the other script threads and not killing kittens.

Anyway, in response to your question, try this:
      Code:
      alias a1 "slot2; bind mouse2 a2"
      alias a2 "slot1; bind mouse2 a1"
      bind mouse2 "a1"

      alias b1 "slot3; bind mouse4 b2"
      alias b2 "slot1; bind mouse4 b1"
      bind mouse4 "b1"

Re: I guess this is a script question

What Yoshi said will work, but it will also do some quirky things you may not want. Specifically, your 2 binds dont notice each other, and if you are using both of them together it would be easy to get confused about which setting each button is set to. For example, if you use mouse2 to switch to slot2, then use mouse3 to switch to slot3 and then back to slot1, now you can't use mouse2 to switch back to slot2 because it is set to switch you to slot1. You can press it twice of course, but you may not remember which way it is set, plus that takes longer.

So I recommend this minor modification:

            Code:
            alias s21 "slot2; bind mouse2 s12; bind mouse3 s31"
            alias s12 "slot1; bind mouse2 s21; bind mouse3 s31"

            alias s31 "slot3; bind mouse4 s13; bind mouse2 s21"
            alias s13 "slot1; bind mouse4 s31; bind mouse2 s21"
            bind mouse2 "s21"
            bind mouse4 "s31"
How is this one better? Whenever you use 1 of your special binds, the other one is reset to normal. So you wont be stuck with 2 binds that switch you back to slot 1, and none that select your other weapons.
