  • Test Server Issues

    Hi all. I'm still a bit of a newb at running a local server to test code. I got it working earlier thanks to Wyz's help. However now after the latest update it starts to not function when trying to load MapCycle.json. I've double checked my files. I've updated, I've reupdated to verify files. I've got the latest DAK code and TGNS code. The only files I've messed with are plugin_taglines.lua. Basically I can type 'status' and it'll recognize it (ie no players connected), but all other commands I've tried don't work. I've checked my Server.lua and it's got the call for DAKLoader_Server.lua right there at line 13. I'm at a loss why my server isn't responding/finish loading. Am I missing something?

    Does the game play ok? can you join a team, does the round start, etc..

    Post any script errors you are getting in your server console log.

    If its just a matter of not being able to execute commands, check that you have set yourself as an admin in the ServerAdmin.json file. Here's what mine looks like:
    Code:
    {
      "groups": {
        "admin_group": {
          "commands": [  ],
          "type": "disallowed"
        }
      },
      "users": {
        "kormendi": {
          "id": 9348,
          "groups": [ "admin_group" ]
        }
      }
    }

      Re: Test Server Issues

      I can't join the server. My guess is that it's somehow hanging and not finishing loading. I'm not getting any script errors (a few models and animations fail to load but that's normal). I'm definitely admin, I've double checked that as well.

      Here's the console dump:
      Code:
      C:\TGNS>C:\TGNS\Server.exe -name SiriuslySirusServer -map ns2_tram -limit 16 -config_path "C:\TGNS\config"
      Press Tab to open the console window

      This line in particular troubles me:
      Removing old version of mod '676c71a'

      Could that be the source of the issues?

        Re: Test Server Issues

        maybe. It looks like your server is still on v235, so you should run steamcmd to update to 237.

          Ah that was definitely it kormendi. My update script was pointing to the wrong directory (small typo). Oy :(

          Everything is working now perfectly. Commands are recognized both in game and from the command line. I can connect to it.

            Nice! Saw this earlier and couldn't get to it until now. So glad korm fixed you up!
