  • Help with PS3 error

Hi guys, I usually dont do much with consoles but my son is getting g old enough to want to okay some games now woohoo!

The issue I am having is I keep getting two reoccurring error codes. 80010006 & 80010017. I have done my research and tried a bunch of different suggestions but nothing g seems to work. The really annoying thing is it only seems to be happening with newer games. Most of my old ones run with out a hitch.

    Any thoughts are appreciated!

Have you tried a DVD lens cleaning disc? You can pick them up at Staples, Best Buy, Amazon, etc. I'd give that a shot first, as it's easy and cheap.

    What generation PS3 is it?

2 USB, I forgot the original had four. I did have that but gave it to a friend and git this one with a bigger HD. Must be 2nd generation then.

Yes. I'm trying to locate a bluray disc cleaner locally still. Even my local ebgames wasn't sure where to get one.

Id love to just upgrade to a ps4 but that's isn't in the budget currently.

It doesn't need to be specifically for Blu-Ray drives, pretty much any DVD optical cleaner will do the trick.

I just went to look up the specific one that I bought on Amazon when I came across this:

                http://www.amazon.com/Maxell-BR-LC-B.../dp/B00178HN0O

                $11.99 in stock!

Sweet thanks Apo! I've checked all stores in town and no one seems to carry anything around here.

On the plus side will browsing Amazon for it I came across a copy of the Deadpool game nicely reduced! Can't say no to the merc with a mouth :)
