  • For anyone here who remembers Sven (Steve Love).

I know this place has changed so much since the days of me and Sven being on here playing counter strike (orignal) with Apophis, CingularDuality Deranger etc, but i know a few here was close to him at the time, and he even came to visit Paul when you lot had a lan party etc... Recently he has been into Vlog'ing while riding around on his on-road and off-road bikes and doing some great videos on his youtube channel. So I feel I have to pass on the information, Steve Love, recently passed away at the young age of 30 in a house fire. I personally never met him, even though he hinted several times, so I feel pretty bad at the moment because he was a fantastic guy :(

Snippet from his tribute page on FB written by his girlfriend:

Commemorative page in memory for the late Steven Love, better known as Svengalie. Died in a house fire at the age of 30

    The Best of Sven:

A father died after setting fire to his own home, police believe.

Firefighters found the body of Steven Love in his house in Telscombe Cliffs after neighbours saw smoke coming from the property and raised the alarm. The 30-year-old was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital but doctors were unable to save him. Last night police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.

"I'm not the fastest, I'm not the best, I'm not the bravest, I wasn't the first, I'm not the coolest or the sexiest. I don't need to make any wild or spurious claims - I'm just some idiot with a camera. That's it.

I get a lot of comments and a lot of mail, if I don't answer I'm not being rude. If it matters that much send your question again, if you don't bug me you wont get an answer.

I'm quite proud of the fact I've never blocked anyone. I've also never removed a comment (not even you trolls *smooch*)

So if you've got something to say, spit it out, good or bad I'm a big boy. I can take it."

    Kind words from fellow YouTubers:

    Mordeth13:
"I made this video quickly and in one take. I'm sure I could have done it better with a few tries.....but I wanted to get this up. I wasn't going to make a video at all as I heard his family were letting close friends know first......but I'm seeing news of this in more than a few places.....so I'm guessing I've waited long enough and the word is officially out. He passed in his home on Saturday February 4th 2012. I can't even imagine what his children are going through......can't even imagine."

"RIP Steven. I had the great fortune to speak to you on a few occasions (Im the one who found you on Facebook) and you were always friendly and helpful. I always wanted to meet you, unfortunately that will not happen on this world, but it will on another. All my best to your family and your young children, I cannot imagine what they are going through having lost their father."

"We hope you're riding in a better place now. Our thoughts are with you and your family, you will be missed by a lot of people."

"It's weird because when you continuously watch someone's videos on YouTube you get to know them and what they are like and how they act so in a way hearing this makes me feel like I've lost a friend or someone close to me, so I can't imagine how you and his family feel.
My thoughts are with you both.
    R.I.P Sven."

"Oh my god I can't believe this.. wow sorry to hear about your friend and especially sorry for his family. I been watching you guys videos on and off for years I really liked his personality, seemed like a very likable and interesting guy."

"I can't even finish watching this :( I read the comments first and watched enough to see if it was true :( This is the saddest thing..sven inspired me to make youtube videos, when I rode I often would think of him and his videos, and his offroading made me want to do it too. He was a true, true legend. I will never forget you sven. RIP xxxx"

So never ever miss a chance. RIP Sven :(

I remember Sven. Never played CS with him but he posted a few bike videos on the forums when I was new here.

There's not really much I can say other than RIP Steve.

A shame to see a fellow TGer pass away, more so at a young age. Rest in peace.

Nice video by one of his friends on youtube, and information on how to watch the recording of the funeral and how to donate for his children if anyone is interested.

Even though I never met Sven in person, even though he asked so many times, I decided to go to his funeral to "meet" him for the first and only time. He was a great online personality and will be missed by thousands. His father did a great talk about his life, and even though i never met him personally, it was great to hear stuff that he had told me, being bought up in the speech. He had done SO much more than some people will do in a lifetime, and he done it in just 30 years. I will miss him for sure.

He died in a House fire in Brighton (annoyingly i was in Brighton ON the day, so could have had a drink with him!) in his old family home but how and why he died isn't important, its what he did while he was here that truly matters.

I've honestly tried not to respond to this thread. Steve was a friend, a good friend. He hauled his ass all the way over the pond to my house a few years ago and spent a week hanging out. I get choked up any time I think about this. I have a pretty decent collection of pictures I took while he was here that I plan to post up soon.

For those that don't know, Sven was a big part of TG back when we were still Network 42 in the N42/PCS days. We used to talk quite often about website and search engine optimization and I learned almost everything I know about SEO from him. When I went through some personal issues a few years ago, we would often chat about it online and he always had a way of helping me view my situation in a less depressing light.

Steve.. I'm going to miss you...
