  • Mechwarrior Online

Just curious who is planning on picking this up / buying a founders package? Personally I can't wait the more I read about it the cooler and cooler it sounds, I remember playing Mechwarrior 4 online and it was a blast I can't imagine how awesome a fully dedicated multiplayer mech game will be. Role warefare, command structure...full mechlab customization, drool.

Just some video's to give a brief overview of the game...more can be found here

Good interview and gameplay video to describe what the game is about

I've been waiting for this since they released the reboot trailer (2 years ago?).

What exactly do you get in a founders package and what's the cost? I'd really like to play a few rounds before I made a money commitment.

I'm tempted but want a test drive before I hand my cash over. Are the founders mechs dumbed down versions or real competitors.

Maybe but currently no. Very early days yet and I am fully aware I have not given it enough time. I think the biggest F2P game if 2012 and in fact the biggest game if 2012 for me will be planet side 2.

                Re: Mechwarrior Online

From what I read on the forums the founders mechs are the standard base varient. So dig out your technical guides and you can see what each carry and where.

I've been thinking about this game since it was announced and decided to go with the legendary pkg.

Between MWO, Planetside 2 and a couple other games I'll probably play It's going to be a busy 2nd half of 2012 and beyond.

                  Re: Mechwarrior Online

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that you can still take your founders mech to the mechlab and make it you own, the base variant will help you with unlocking modules and skills though (at least that's my understanding of how it works)

                        Re: Mechwarrior Online

Looks pretty promising and more so than most Kickstarter projects simply because the game is almost ready to go. Also since the game design is very much centered around Battletech foundations it should ring true for most vets of the series. Another great thing for those who like shiny graphics (me) the game is developed with Cryengine 3 so the gameplay should be solid and the graphics will be playable for any computer. Also the videos really do showcase how amazing the game already is, I just think what will it be like a year from now or two even. Not that I enjoy all F2Ps but look at Global Agenda it's gone through a complete readjustment, also a game that I like playing Blacklight Retribution is in my opinion just as good as the current CoD titles but free.

If any one is also thinking of becoming a founder or just playing the game let me know I am always looking for people to play with especially maybe starting an official MWO group at TG.

Late to the thread. I've been following MWO for a while now and shelled out for one of the "founders" packages.
                          Looking forward to playing!

Also late to the thread, but I intend to be playing at release (or sooner if I can get in on beta). I'll probably be picking up the $60 Founders package.

So I went to purchase my Elite pack and found that you have to choose your mech when you purchase. That's freaking stupid. How the hell do I know what mech to pick if I haven't played the game?

So which one should I pick? I'm leaning towards the Atlas or the Catapult because I know them from MW4, but I have no idea how they'll play in MWO.
