    Journalist seeks action gamer families

I just found this in AGHLCS and I know that there are a few families here at TG that could fit into this story. I've talked to this guy before and he seems to be a really good guy.

others. As people here are well aware, there's a lot of controversy over
whether these games cause violent behavior in young people.

I've talked to a fair number of experts on the issue, but I'd much rather
talk to the people who really matter-kids who play the games, and their
parents. If you're a kid who plays one of these shoot-'em-up games, I'll be
happy to talk with you, but only if your parents also agree to an interview.
If you're an adult with kids, I'd like to know whether you let your children
play the games, or whether you reserve them for adults only. In my article,
I'd like to include your names, ages, the adults' occupations, and the
    communities where you live.

No, this isn't a gag. I really am a journalist. Please visit my blog or
the Boston Globe Web site to read some of my recent work. You'll find the
links in the signature at the end of this message.

Interested? Please contact me via e-mail as soon as possible. Thanks.

LMAO. I think I should go shoot up a mall and say the news made me do it. One of my biggest influences was President Bush.

Its a stupid cycle that will always repeat itself. I personally am waiting for them to combind some of these.

"Today, a boy went on a shooting spree killing 20. When asked what made him do it he replied 'It was the music inside the games that made me do it'. So there you have it, video game music is to blame."

This guy seems just like any other media personality. print anything to make a buck weither it kills the enjoyment to others or not.

Plainly, these were two warped kids. But what warped them? Once apprehended, the youngsters insisted they didn't mean to really kill anyone but simply wanted to emulate their favorite computer game, the notoriously violent Grand Theft Auto.
It is just like the Snipers in washington saying that video games made them do it. Violence is a way of our lives. But it is not the cause of what happens in the world. Look at Japan, most of the most perverted, and violent movies/games/comics come directely from there and they aint running out to highways to shoot people and blame it on a game. Back when I was a kid it was the music we listened to. Now it is everything around us. hmmm maybe it is just the media itself. This country believe it or not was built on violance. Where you sit right now once had blood spilt on the ground I am sure.

Next people will say that the dog talks to them. Oh wait mine talks to me. God, see we have nothing else to blame now. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG

    I like this last paragraph

A sensible move, but it may not matter. Lowenstein said 83 percent of the games played by children, including the ugliest titles, are bought for them by adults. ''There is no law that man has devised,'' he said, ''that can mandate responsible parenting.''

I've never read an article that discussed families that play violent video games together... I'm actually really looking forward to his article...
