  • Motorcycle advise...

Looking to purchase in June, never been a fan of Harley Davidson... just to bloated and expensive, manly due to name, but their are dealers everywhere including 1 mile from my home... I really like those Victory Motorcycles but the nearest dealership is about 50 miles away, and it's not even a dealership, just a moped shop that sells Victory's...

I'm looking at a 15k price range, and really like the Cruiser style...

    I'm looking hard at these:

    1st choice:
    http://www.victorymotorcycles.com/en...pot/motorcycle

    2nd:
    http://www.victorymotorcycles.com/en...all/motorcycle

or if I go Harley...what is recommended... they have way to many to choose from... any advise or recommendations from fellow riders?

Its Hard to tell buy looking at pic's. This is something you will have to ride and get a feel for, they both look very pretty. Factor how often you will ride, how far you will ride, any passengers with you. I don't know much about Victory I hear good things, and they look nice, but if you want a bike that will hold it's value get a Harley, My Dad had a 2002 soft tail with all the fittings, very pretty, and when he sold it a couple years ago it hardly lost any value. My brother owns a 1300 sportster which is fun but for a young man. And when you test drive remember shields make a big difference in comfort and your overall experience especially on long trips. I want a Yamaha YZF :) but my wife says NO! A hazard from to many years running paramedic. Any way you choose you cant go wrong really, it is a speacial place it takes you, a great experience. Good Luck!

actually I was quite impressed with the prices and Triumph motorcycles, I thought they'd be ridiculously priced, like the BMW's.

The Victory bikes are nasty! (in the good way). A buddy of mine had one and it was very comfortable and had a big engine. Plenty enough to get you into and out of trouble quickly.
