  • TV shows need to last atleast 15 episodes

It seems that these TV series like The Last Ship, or Falling Skies only gets 10 episodes in then you have to wait another year. I would like to see them last 15 episodes long as a minimum. Is that so much to ask? Flashpoint, Las Vegas, House all got to about 24 episodes and every episode was awesome. I miss those days. :(

I think less episodes is a good thing. Look at the British shows like "Shadow Line" and "The Honourable Woman". Eight fantastic episodes in a series that actually has an ending that makes sense. Then they make another great series instead of retreading the same story over and over.

I don't mind the length of a series so much. It's more important to me that a series has an ending point so you know it's going to be finished properly rather than just whimper to a halt once the show gets axed mid season.

E.G. I liked that Battlestar Galactica was only four seasons so you actually got a complete story out of it.

Falling sky's is about half way over the shark.

Idk what they would do to fill more EPs.

The split season is the one that bothers me. Walking Dead and Breaking Bad, when it was on, both do a split season. 6 or so ep's then... Silence for three to four months till it returns for the last six of the season. Grr... #FirstWorldProblems

There comes a time when the producers and the fans know when the show needs to end. Dexter was getting very thin writing and almost ready to jump the shark, it could have ended one season sooner. Justified could have ended this year but will end after this season after wrapping up all the loose ends, my favorite series. House of Cards has maybe one season left before staleness sets in and Tyrant sucks so all I have left is Falling Skies. Unless something comes along I will back to the Great Wasteland of TV again. Twelve episodes is about the right amount of episodes per season for me.

Wouldn't be so bad if it doesn't take them soooooo long to release a new season.

I remember days of Star Trek, having like 20+ episodes per season.

The Stargate series pretty much took the win for me in TV. There are roughly 400 episodes of Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis on Netflix. I was VERY, VERY upset when they canceled Stargate Universe because of a "lack of strong female characters"... that was garbage. Wrestling was getting better ratings on SyFi, so they canceled it to clear a slot. Makes sense, though... wrestling on the SyFi channel?

Watch Sherlock (the new one) on Netflix. It's a BBC show. Each episode runs about an hour and a half and there are 3 episodes in a season... currently 3 seasons on Netflix. And each season is released 2 years after the first. It's torturous for Netflix watchers like me... BUT, it feels like you get 9 movies out of it rather than 9 episodes.

Bring back Fire fly! I don't get invested into TV anymore, I just go on crackle to watch old shows like Night Rider, love to watch terrible shows that I thought were awesome when I was younger. Still some where surprisingly good like Magnum PI

I miss the old standard of 20-24 episodes per season. As for British shows, so few of them end up being regulars that I frequently chase or watch. Most of the dry comedy ones bore me and the more thrilling shows bore me with the year long wait (or more) between seasons (called a "series" in the UK apparently...I know confusing as hell).

At least Falling Skies got renewed lol. I have a collection of great TV shows (including Firefly) that never made it out of Season 1, much less got to even finish a season.

How is The Last Ship? Good for a B-rated TV show? (Sorry the promos screamed B-rating.)

It's an orgy of navy porn and Michel Bay special effects. I'm watching it, I'm a child, but I'm watching it.
