    Yep, I sure have. There are a bunch of "old school" shooters based on Quake 2 and 3 engines that are available for free: Tremulous, Nexuiz, and Code Red among them.

    Good fun. Not going to win any awards for graphics or tactics, but way better than any open source game usually is.

        I just found Tremulous and installed it under Ubuntu. Installation was a snap and everything worked out of the box.

        The game looks a bit dated but it seems like it could be good fun. I played one round as an alien and spent more time lost than anything. I'll have to give it a bit more time.

        I also installed Nexuiz and only played one round of singleplayer. It is Unreal Tournament 2. It also seems pretty fun and also worked out of the box under Ubuntu.

        I haven't heard of Code Red. I'll check it out tonight.
