These are known as "419" scams. They typically originate in Nigeria and have been running the net for years.

There is a web site that shows where the scammers have been scammed in turn.

I know its a scam bt the thing is, it sounds so real that it reeks of scam, and its halarious because you can almost see him trying so hard to convince me that it cracks me up.

Set up email filters to send them to the trash or change email accounts.

Dont delete it reply and start to get relly involved.

String him along and see what you can get him to do.

This is what will what he will do.

This may provide some instruction on how to perform the quoted idea. Remember that you are probably dealing with organized crime, and they may be more sophisiticated and violent than you think.

I got a small batch of them a few years ago claiming a distant relative had passed away and they wanted to give me a ton of money but I had to do blah blah first... I replied threatening legal action and claiming I would report the email to my local authorities.

I havn't had a single email like that since.

It's highly recommended that you NOT try and string these people along. People have lost their lives over these things. You may think they are scams pulled off by ignorant spammers, but this isn't always the case with this type of scam. In fact, it is rarely the case.

I think you should reply with, "WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME?"
