  • John Denver

I just accidentally stumbled across this video and thought I'd share it. I was a huge fan of John Denver when I was a kid, and was truly sad when he died. His music is so wonderful and always brings a smile to my face. Anyhoo, I think he deserves to be mentioned every once in a while. Anyone else a fan of Mr. Denver?

I listened to him a lot as a kid. On cassette tape.

      Re: John Denver

I never listened to him until a few years ago, and guys may laugh, but I can't even listen to a bunch of his songs without almost tearing up and getting really sad. It is really weird, and not sure why. It just hits me in an off way. I really like the song you posted above, but I can't listen to it.

Only other songs that do that are a couple of Bob Marley songs and I think an Allman Brothers song.

I used to say "Far Out" all the time in my teens, and didn't know till a few years ago how famous John was for saying it.

He's gotten this undeserved hoaky reputation from the popular culture. He really is a great musician.

Well, I guess I am partitial to that song cause of living in WV, lol. I too like John Denver,
Johnny Cash was another singer I am a big fan of. For the most part I don't like country music, at least not a lot of the newer country cause it is more pop than country.

There's music to listen to, and music to watch. For the latter, you can't beat Shania Twain. ;)

Sure you can. Shakira, or that French girl. I can never remember her name...

Ok, with Alizee, I stand corrected. (Shakira doesn't grab me.)

Oh holy smokes yes! I fell in love with Alizee the moment I saw her dance (a while back). She has single handedly semi-redeemed the French.

I'm more of a butt guy than a boob guy, but I've never seen any other woman that can move her chest like Shakira:

And a video of John Denver in the venue that I most enjoyed him playing:
