    OK...
    why are doughnuts called doughnuts?
    Your standard doughnut does not involve nuts.

    So why not just call them dough circles?

    Or if we're going to call them something that isn't involved, how about
    Dough Monkeys?

          Sadly I may even still have eaten them if they were called "Oily Cakes".
