Wow. That's pretty sad. I wonder if we can somehow clean it up. We better be able to. That's pretty pathetic on the part of the human race.

Send it into space, or perhaps another unused planet.

It's too big and massive to pick up. Where would you put it anyway even if you did? It would be too costly to send in to space piece by piece.

How about we blame somebody else and make them foot the bill?

I'd like to put a very large net around it, cement the whole mess together, and declare a republic. Welcome to the floating republic of Garbagia!

Suggestion I would make is that a recycling plant get some ships together and go recycle it. Of course we all know plastic comes from oil so yeah, it would burn fairly easily once it was started down to a certain point anyway but just imagine the oil we would not have to use to make more plastic by recycling all that plastic there.
Just amazing though, people are griping about recycling plastic and there is so much just floating around right there.

                              UPDATE:
Also, think of the cost it would be saving us all by recycling this garbage, oil prices might actually drop some more if enough plastic is actually there and recycled. Sure you all heard that if everybody in the US would just stop buying bottled water from only the Wal-Mart stores for a single day it would cost the oil industry $100 million if not more!!
