  • Black Mesa Source Trailer Released!

I don't need to try to explain how awesome this is (especially if you remember playing HL1 almost 10 years ago)... I can't wait!

I've been waiting for this "mod" for what seems like forever! The trailers look excellent.

It's going to bring back alot of good memories and it's supposed to be free for all the Source engine games owners.

I hope their 2009 Q1-2 date doesnt get delayed. I am very anxious for this to come out already. Valve really should think about hiring some of these guys because the work they did in this is great so far and is on par with Valve quality games.

my jaw dropped, and i wet myself a little bit..... that looks awesome, i wonder the if/when on the storyline compared to halflife... it almost looks like a source remake of HL1. watching that movie, and looking back... HL1 was way better than HL2, sure 2 looked better, but HL1 is where its at... (HL2 episodes was good tho... 1 and 2, brought a less alone feeling to the game with the mostly co-op gameplay)

The Source engine is amazingly scalable. Who knows how far it can be taken graphically.

Can't wait. Really, I can't. Black Mesa Source looks so awesome, especially to someone who was a huge fan of the original Half Life, that I'd gladly see Starcraft 2 delayed just to play this mod.

yes, source is a developers dream, it can look as sexy as l4d (has anyone seen the plane crash in real time?) on high settings, and it can play on a 6 year old system that has 512 ram and 128mb graphic card, i wonder when it will hit its cap on prettieness

That's exactly what it is my friend! :) Shortly after the source engine came out, these guys had the idea to transform HL1 into what we would have all liked it to have been from the beginning! I've been following this mod for over a year and it's been hard to wait for it as they released different media but it will definitely be worth the wait! :)

If you're interested, this is a good page from their site to explain a few more details:
