  • X-rays + games = win?

I just saw this link on the escapist and thought it was pretty cool. A Dutch X-ray technician and gamer decided to combine his job and hobby and came up with these amazing pictures.

Indeed. There must be loads of stuff that would look cool in an x-ray. Cars for example, or planes. A clock would look pretty cool as well.

I took my mom to her doctor the other day and got to see her chest xray on his PC. What was particularly cool was her CAT scan, which let's you animate the "slice" up and down through the torso.

I love looking at x-rays when someone has a nice fracture. And yes, CT scans are nice. Ours at my hospital will allow you to travel 3D through a scanned area if you selected that option. They try not to unless they really need it. It exposes you to more x-ray than whats really needed.

Looking though that, it really shows how micro curcuit design has evolved into todays consoles.

No apologies necessary. I'm sure she'll be flattered. (She's 82!)

An x-ray will only let you see her bones, a pleasant evening with euphemistic flirtation may let you see a few layers above ;).

Get a cat. Then you can offer her a cat scan. :p

                          Re: X-rays + games = win?

Hey, this is right up my alley. I take x-rays for a living and I've been able to take pictures of things like tiny little metal pieces from the Cummins diesel plant nearby (they wanted to see a tiny rubber seal within a metal valve but, as I predicted, it did not work) and contrast-filled flowers (they were put in x-ray contrast instead of water for a while, see below). Other than that, yeah, it's mostly bones and CT scans for me.

Sometimes I do third shift where it's only me and another employee running the department, and we have lots of downtime... hmm.

Sorry my camera's reflection ruins it a bit.

                            Cool flower pic.

Do you know of any online CAT scan demos that let you frob through the slices?
