I have to say, at least he wasn't dumb enough to take the bait. Dumb enough to agree to a Couric interview, sure, but that was a lot of self control for a guy who makes his living as a fool.

Re: Glenn Beck = Michael Scott?

I can tell you one thing without even watching the video. White Culture is hard to define because there are so many different cultures that are currently labeled as White Culture.

Define White Culture? White Culture is a broad name for the many different cultures that exist within the Caucasian people groups. Whites may be white, but are they all the same, no. Are the white French the same as the white English? No, those two countries and their people are not the same and their culture is definitely different. This very thing exists in America. In the US, there exists different groups of people with different ethnic backgrounds and with different ideologies that often are based on the culture that their family is from. You will go from one area to the next and sometimes find a night and day difference between the cultural standards. A good example of just how big gaps can be is the jump between some of the white ethnic groups in Philadelphia and the Amish living in the neighboring counties to the west.

It is a sad thing, but many people seem to think that there is such a thing as Pop Culture. As far as I can tell (and I am not alone in this), Pop Culture does not exist, it is an idealized by-word used by movie stars, rappers, singers, and teen idols for the purposes of pushing products, ideas, or other interests in order to receive personal or political gain. I noticed that many of my peers in the classes at college could not answer what Pop Culture was and those that did answer often gave responses that related to things seen on TV.

This leads me to believe that Pop Culture and White Culture are stereo types that have been cast upon the fractured, localized cultures that have their origins in their respective ethnic heritage.

Now, to Glen Beck and Michael Scott. I dislike Michael Scott, I find that he is a jerk and frankly, he knows how to be one. Now, I do like Glen Beck's radio show, but I must admit, he sometimes does not watch how and when he words things. Sometimes his ideas, no matter how valid his ideas are, are overlooked and missed because the people misunderstand what he has said. Now, I think each and everyone of us have forgotten at one point or another that each person on TV or the radio are people. Every person, no matter how bothersome they maybe, are entitled to their thoughts and the proper respect any human should receive. Do not forget that making fun of those on TV or the radio is just as embarrassing as it is to make fun of a person you know in real life.

To anyone who has jumped to conclusions about me: I could careless about what party a person is in, as long as a person supports that which is right, then I will support him. You may think I am naive in this idea, but isn't it time that we forget about the factions and for once look at our problems and fix them for once. I find breathing sand hurts the lungs.

          About the video:
To be honest, it is beyond me why this individual did not direct the question to Glen at his website or to his radio show. If one is put on the spot with such a hard question, it is obvious that there is a reason behind it that is not so easily observed. If I was put on the spot to answer a question that has the chance to greatly impact my career in a negative way, I would rather politely decline and move on than to speak without proper planning.

hahaha, yeah he definitely knows there’s a game being played… though “what is white culture” is pretty much an unanswerable question, so I don’t think it was too hard for him to avoid ‘the bait’.

Re: Glenn Beck = Michael Scott?

Glen Beck is an idiot, the scary thing is people with weak direction, that are ignorant, or just scared about everything in life will follow him and reinforce the crap comming out of his mouth. I must say it frightens me to know there are so many more followers than leaders out there. His 9-12 project, lol give me a break. I just hope that around the world reason and common since hasnt been wiped away and replaced with fear and crazy conspiracy theory, the guy is a loon, just like most radio talk hosts and most of the foxNews channel. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!

personally id much rather listen to him then whom ever CNN or MSNBC is propping up anymore. He was the only one to give Ron Paul any air time, and i think thats what did him in at CNN. Sorry but you have to have a balance of left wing nuts and right wing nuts.
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

He would be the first to admit that his material is hugely biased. The extremists on the right are much more insidious because of that one simple fact.

                              Agree with Buckets.

Michael Moore is over the top so as to bring attention to a situation that he thinks needs attention. He is a showman with what seems to be genuine concerns about what the blind faith in capitalism and free markets can do to sub sections of the population.

I don't think Beck really cares about anything he talks about. I listen to his radio show from time to time and he seems like he panders to a certain demographic (the angry one) and nothing else. He comes across as angry, to be sure. But I don't get the feeling that he is actually angry about his topics.

Even Limbaugh seems genuinely concerned with his what he talks about. I find Limbaugh boring and about as intellectual as a rock but at least he has the acting ability to seem concerned.
