  • 3DMark 11

For those that missed the news, 3DMark 11 is finally out now after a few delays.
Don't want to get into the whole debate of real world benchmarking vs synthetic benchmarking, but many people find programs like this helpful is testing and stress testing their systems. Hell, I used to run older versions just because the video looked so cool.

    Check it out:
    Download: 3DMark 11 Basic Edition

Make sure you read the requirements at the link to make sure your rig has everything it needs to run it. If you have time, might even want to post your score and your rig specs so we have kind of have a TG baseline or something....

Why don't you kick it off by posting your own score? Unfortunately I can't run this since my video card isn't dx11.

      Re: 3DMark 11

I've been crazy busy. Woke up at 5am, drove to Fort Bragg, just got home, and just checking the forum while waiting for the electric blanket to warm up so I can crash. Holy **** it's cold here.

I plan to run it this weekend.

Here's my score from the basic benchmark tests:

Nothing to really write home about considering the average framerate through out was about 15 fps.

            Re: 3DMark 11

I'm having a bit of a problem running it. Tried 3 times and it crashes at the same point. Looks like the devs are aware there is a problem, and are working on it. So I'll try again in a few days.
So far though the first few tests run usually between 20-25fps, but the last few are just brutal, and are usually 6-10fps.

I had crashing problems but I read on a forum that closing down xfire would fix the issue... it worked. *insert confused smiley*

I like how the histogram at the top of the results page indicates that there are 3 jerks out there with super computers capable of scoring ~8500 on this benchmark.

I believe it's on the results page, no?

I have no clue how you got an image of your specs, so I just did some combined merge of screenshots:

The results page wasn't linked in your post when I made the post. Guess you edited after I navigated away from the thread.

I use a FF add-on called Screen Capture Elite that lets me marquee a very long webpage and save it to my HDD as a single image (works on most pages except for all flash websites). I then upload it to my webserver (or Picasa) and link to the image.

It's very handy tool I use daily when I'm helping people with their hardware/software issues. :)

Looks like Wickens has the exact rig Brokeback does with the exception of the 3.8 GHz OC. The OC seems to have contributed an extra 300+ points to the score. Not bad. Guess my rig without my OC would give me roughly 3000 points.

for me. I had to uncheck "scan system info" or whatever, in order not to freeze up on the CPU test.
