  • Direct 3D overrider and triple buffering

Does anyone use Direct 3D overider in riva tuner in conjunction with triple buffering, and if so does it help much.

I enabled triple buffering on my 5870 and could swear I noticed an improved image but am aware that its not supposed to work with direct x games, they need to be open gl. This is where Rivatuner comes in as it forces the third frame to render/buffer (or something like that).

I would love to hear of anyone's experiences with this configuration, partuiculary with system killers like Arma. I have noticed performance gains in Arma 2 by shifting load onto the gpu, ironically by enabling higher settings like shadows. This seems to move load off the CPU and increase framerates, useful when recording vids at the highest settings.

Apologies if there is an old thread on this, search function is hard work when browsing by phone.
