  • XP Home --> XP Pro

Does anyone here know what the proper (legal) process is for converting an XP Home installation to XP Pro? Other than purchasing an upgrade copy of XP Pro? I was hoping there was some deal where you could just pay the difference, but I can't find any info where I'm looking.

nope, unless you own a retail copy of xp home, then you could sell it....

otherwise, there is no legal way... believe me, I wish there were.

Out of interest, why are you thinking of going for Pro over Home?

Just looking at some options for someone who wants to run a remote-control scenario (a la Remote Desktop, Remote Administrator, VNC, etc.).

If I can recall correctly, the vanilla version of VNC offers no encryption, so use it at your own risk.
