  • MSI unveils the first PCI Express 3.0 motherboard

This was just posted on Engadget:

MSI unveils Z68A-GD80 (G3) PCI Express 3.0 motherboard

Looks like those of us building new rigs for BF3 are going to have PCI-E 3.0 as an option :row__685:

Not that PCI-E 3.0 is really necessary with current gen gfx cards, but if your going to build, might as well go as future proof as possible.

That was a bit confusing. It seems they're labeling their two PCI-E 3.0 slots as PCI-E 2.0 slots as well. :S

Re: MSI unveils the first PCI Express 3.0 motherboard

By the time you'll be utilizing PCI-E 3.0 you'll most likely be purchasing another motherboard for a new socket. No need for myself to switch from my P67 SandyBridge board for this, maybe something to look at when Haswell comes out after Ivy... and that's speculating that it will be utilized even by then.
