    2 questions....
Anyone have a link for a good HD speed tester program that's free.

What kind of speeds are good? I have a new Samsung spinpoint F3 drive and I want to see what types of read/write speeds it gets.

      Crystal Disk Mark

They use it purely for benchmarks

As to your second question, the F3s have good speeds and are only beaten at the moment by the newer WD Caviar Blacks. Since you can normally grab F3s around ~$50 people normally use them for Raid 0. As to what exact speeds you'll get, I have no idea.... test it and it should report speeds that roughly match the specs of the hard drive.

Not doing a raid setup....but I got a good deal on the drive, 39 dollars for 1 tb. Thanks for the response. I will test it tonight and see what it gets.
