  • [ANNOUNCEMENT] Do not update to windows 8.1 if you use corsair link

If you own a corsair H100i,H60 or H80i and you are using corsair link.

DO NOT, I SAY AGAIN, DO NOT UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 8.1.

There is currently a driver issue with the pump controller. Corsair is aware of the issue but does not plan on releasing a fix for at least 6 months.

If you do upgrade you will have no temp reporting and worst, you WILL have absolutely zero control over the pump speed or fan profiles.

There are some fixes floating around in the corsair forums involving some complex registry hacks however people are reporting its not succesful 100% if the time.

    You have been warned.

Yikes. Is it possible just to run the pump without link?

I've always liked the idea of Corsair Link but I've never had an issue with my original H100.

H100 is fine as the pump controller is built into the pump. The H100i uses corsair link to control the pump

Here's a reference: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=122290 (one of many) This one has a backlink to the relevant registry hotfix (which is not perfect). We'll have to wait for Corsair to update their Link software. Until then, I"m holding off on updating to Windows 8.1 (bummer).

Corsair now has a official thread regarding Corsair Link and Windows 8.1: http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123030

Expected fix is in approximately 4-6 weeks discounting a public beta build in the next few weeks (which may be buggy).
