    I was checking out FutureMark's 3DMark05 ORB (online results browser) scores which I havnt done in awhile and found a guy with a near 17,000 score! There are 5 others over 16,500 point scores.

    ASUS A8N SLI Premium
    FX55 @ 13 x 290 -> 3778Mhz
    ASUS EN7800GTX @ 653/1491Mhz
    GSKILL F1 DDR600 @ 290 cas 2.5, 4, 3, 1T
    Cooled by Home-made Triple Cascade

    Here's a pic of his rig:

    And another guy on the same forum is going to try to surpass that with this:

      I think this is a new genre of game - MMOB (massively multiplayer online benchmarking).

          That second one is actually well done. If they have the means, the time and the creativity, then power power to them. No pun intended.

                Having a machine running that fast is pointless, you're still bottlenecked at your HDD...personally I can't see spending the time or money on it...I'd rather save it so I can afford 3.59 a gallon and getting 10mpg in the H2 :)

                  that's possibly the most rediculous thing i've ever heard.

                  you could run a 5400rpm ATA33 drive, and there would still be a performance difference between processor clocks.

                    Assuming everthing is loaded to memory, IBM addressed this issue years ago back in the 80's on their mainframes by adding lots of cache and doing read aheads on the drive, they assumed if you read sector 1,2,3,4 that you were going to read 5,6,7, etc. Do the test yourself, load xp on a box with an ATA33 drive and a PIII 550 and then do the same on a p4 3.2Ghz it will take the same amount of time...I see it everyday on customers computers
