  • Will a PCIe 3.0 run on PCIe 1.0?

I got a very old 680i SLI motherboard from nVidia. I want to get a GTX 750. Think it'll work?

I got one PCIe x1 slot
    Two PCIe x16 slots
    and two PCI slots.

I'm guessing it will work with the PCIe x16 slot. Hopefully.

In all likelihood, a PCI-E 3.0 card will work in a PCI-E 1.1 slot. However, that 1.1 slot is going to severely bottleneck that GTX 750 that you'd be better off building a new machine altogether.

Acreo is right. It will work, but will be heavily bottlenecked. You will need to overclock the snot out of your cpu to get a bit more performance but that GTX750 will not be working to its full potential.
