  • good choosing 5.1 speakers.

    Hi,

So I've been using headphones for gaming for a long time. my flatmate bought this projector now and we had the idea that there should be a decent speakers with it.
Dont know much here. Have some money to spend (about 100-150). If anybody has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Are you talking about home theater, or strictly for the computer? Personally, I am interested in a discussion of the latter, as my computer is in a relatively small room and that is where I watch movies and do gaming, and so a computer type 5.1 setup would suit my needs just fine. But this is your thread, don't want to hijack it in a direction you didn't intend for it to go...

At that price point you are looking at a "home theater in a box" and there will probably not be much difference between the options available.

You may get better sound with two decent bookshelf speakers and a reciever. You could then over time build up to a 5.1 by adding speakers. You can probably get decent deals on Whalfdale, Mordaunt-Short, and Cambridge Audio since you live in the UK. I would probably go to RicherSounds and listen to some stuff. They seems to have a good selection (at least on their website Richer Sounds - The UK's Hi-Fi, Home Cinema & Flat Panel TV Specialists! ).

Thanks, some of them look good, I'll see if I can find some place to listen to some of them. It seems harder to find reviews from more than one or two sources, than it was for headsets. And almost everything so far had great reviews.
