  • Some thoughts on what to do with old Xboxes

Saw this over on Mad Penguin.

Food for thought, even if it bleeds into Creative Commons wishful thinking.

What's going to happen to all those old PS2s and Xboxes?

^^^^I wouldn't recommend it. The Xbox 360 and PS3 and Rev are all backwards compatible. Just wait til they drop down. The PS2 and NGC might be a good buy right now but if you have a high end PC the xbox is pretty much pointless.

Microsoft give a free windows license out to Xbox owners? Not a chance in a million years.

Agreed. Never going to happen. I can see a spike in crack chips sales for the console though.

i believe this article is slightly wrong about the modchips being illegal, its not the chips that are illegal but modified firmware (bios based on the original xbox bios) and use of pirated software being one of the main reasons people buy them. if you mod your xbox then put a perfectly LEGAL cromwell bios on it and dont copy games you dont already own then you are in no way breaking the law. thats how i understand it anyways
