You don't need the fan. Antec Sonata's only have one spot for a 120mm and it comes with a good fan already. That is unless you want to cut a hole for another one, which defeats the Sonata's purpose, which is to be quiet.

          Yea, drop that fan!

Sonata's actually have two 120mm fan spaces, but comes with a fan in the back one, right under the power supply. People going for a real quiet system will replace that system, but it's pretty quiet for those that are less picky.

The second is on the harddrive rack on the side that faces the motherboard. You can see them in my picture of my original Sonata. I have little silicon pieces made for eyeglasses between the fan and case, and the fan is held on by zip ties. No vibration transferred through the case :)

Ahem, I don't want to sound like some blatant advertiser, but tomorrow I'll rip a perfectly fine BFG 6800 Ultra OC PCI-e out of my machine and replace it with a 7800GT. I am selling this card for $275 + shipping. You'd gain 5 FPS for the same price. Check out this article: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...5-17gpu_8.html
[BTW: should I send this PM?]

Errr what? I'm probably misunderstanding somewhere but in case you mean that I strongly suggest sticking with the 3700 San Diego. Its got 1MB L2 cache vs 512 for the 3800, the core is newer(more features) and is a good chunk cheaper. Not to mention the 3700 is a fantastic overclocker from the little I have heard/read.

Also I would change the graphics card to an eVGA 7800GT. After a $20 instant rebate and a $10 mail-in rebate it only comes out $30 more expensive. The decent performance jump is worth that price jump easily imo but also factor in that you will get Call of Duty 2 for free.

Thats gonna be an awesome pc btw.

Allright, that looks pretty solid for a 1200 dollar machine. Think I'm done revising.
