  • Review my " machine "

Hey guys, I gradually upgraded my machine for gaming, I started off gaming with these specs-:

    Some sort of msi board
    Intel celeron 2.4Ghz
    64mb onboard graphics
    256mb DDR Ram

Believe it or not for a month i was playing css with this, what shall i call it... thing... ( laugh it off )

Then i upgraded the ram to 512mb, A short while after i baught another stick of 512mb ram ( the ram is nothing near quality something like valueshop and kingston sticks ) Then i upgraded the graphics card, to a ati radeon 9550 256mb, and in effect, i gained a wopping 10fps after this upgrading!!!, then recently last week i baught a amd sempron 64 3300+ ( 2.0 Ghz ) and a kv8-mx board, now from my lame 20-25 fps on maps such as de_dust2 ( css ) i went to a whopping 65-75 i was amazed! Now this is my final upgrading for a while and here is the final specs-:

    256mb Ati radeon 9550
    1 Gig DDR Ram
    AMD Sempron 64 3300+
    K8V-MX X Series mobo

So what do you think? Average? Bad? Allright? And for future upgrades ( a month or 2 ) what do you suggest i shud upgrade? And what are the possibilities of getting a decent play on bf2 with these specs? Thanks.

Your rig will run BF2, but probably at minimum settings - which is fine. I played on minimums for a while because my GFX card was low - only a X300 PCIE. At low settings I got about 35-45 fps. If you boosted that video card you would be a lot better off - you could upgrade it significantly for as little as $100 - just make sure it's a supported card (below).

    Here's minimum specs, just FYI:

    Minimum Specification:
    CPU: 1.7 GHz
    RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: nVidia GeForce FX 5700, ATI Radeon 8500 or ATI Radeon 9500 with 128 MB of RAM

    Recommended Specification:
    CPU: 2.4 GHz
    RAM: 1 GB
Video Card with at least 256 MB of RAM

Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:
    Radeon X700 (PCI-E)
    Radeon X600 (PCI-E)
    GeForce 6600 (PCI-E)
    GeForce PCX 5900 (PCI-Ee)
    GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
    ATI Radeon X800 PRO
    ATI Radeon 9800 Series
    ATI Radeon 9600 Series
    ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
    ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
    ATI Radeon 8500 Series
    ATI Radeon X300 Series
    nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
    nVidia GeForce 6800 GT
    nVidia GeForce 6800
    nVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
    nVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
    nVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series

Unfortunately the upgrade path for an S754 AGP board is limited. I would save up my upgrade money for a while until I could make the leap to an S939 PCIe motherboard, along with an S939 processor and a PCIe video card.
